What an interesting home with a great history and proximity to the Hancock Shaker Village! My friends and I chose the place specifically to visit the village, and it was literally across the street - we really appreciated the 2 free passes too. The home itself was comfortable and spacious with gorgeous views, even in the wintertime. It was a bit chilly inside, but gave us a good excuse to just hunker down with some blankets.
Beautiful place. Pictures don’t do it justice! Very cool design and beautiful views. Excellent hiking trails directly from property. It was below 0 with the windchill and there was a foot+ of snow on the ground but we still enjoyed the shaker mountain trails.
The place was truly beautiful. My kids loved all the open spaces and the abundance of natural light from the windows throughout.

We had a wonderful stay at this thoughtfully cared-for mid-century home. It feels warm, comfortable, and full of character, with all the modern amenities you’d want. The large panoramic windows bring in beautiful light and open views, and the house is surrounded by trees, making it feel quiet and tucked away. One morning we even spotted deer outside, which set the tone for a calm, grounding stay. Inside, there are so many inviting spaces—areas to gather for games, cozy corners for quiet conversations, spots to nap, and a great setup for settling in for a movie. It’s a house that works well for being together while still giving everyone room to breathe. The no-step entry, wide open living space, and easy parking made it very accommodating as well. It felt like the kind of place meant for a reset or retreat and kept me thining of Hawthorne's line....“A peaceful spot will soothe the cares of many years.” We can’t wait to return to FriendlyHills.
Jaryn’s place was the perfect place for a weekend in the Berkshires. Easy access to Jiminy, Bousquet, restaurants etc. The space itself is unique and well appointed, cool Frank Lloyd Wright feel.
We really enjoyed staying at Jaryn's beautiful home. It was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. It was snowy and cold, so we only walked a little bit on the trails behind the house, but it was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedroom was dark and quiet. It was so peaceful. If in the area I would definitely stay there again.
We stayed at Friendly Hills house for 4 nights with 6 adults and 1 dog. The house fit us perfectly. It was just as on the photos, even better in person. Unique design. Nice private location, very quiet at night. The house had everything we needed. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook or serve the meals. Unlike many other airb&b with stayed at this house had ALL you need to have a great stay. Nothing was missing. I appreciate attention to every detail, nothing was overlooked. It was cozy and warm like somebody actually lives there. Nice location, close to everything. House was well taken care off. We had an amazing time. I would stay again in heart beat. One of our favorite airb&b in many years renting. Host did a great job!!
We had a great stay! Super peaceful and beautiful location. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items we needed for cooking. We had plenty of Blankets and board games as well. Definitely a great value.
This is such an interesting house and we were glad to see it is being cared for so well. It is calm and comfortable, with wonderful light and space. The location is terrific as it is close to many activities, but outside the town hubbub. We really appreciated the owner’s generous holiday gift of a delicious apple pie. An altogether very positive Berkshire experience.
Friendly Hills was beautiful, inside and out. We were so comfortable and appreciated the mid-century home. We would stay again in a heart beat and highly recommended to our family and friends.

Cancellation policy
Refundable Bookings
Cancellation deadlines:
- For stays under 15 nights, you may cancel or reschedule up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund. For stays 15 nights or longer, the cancellation window is 60 days.
- For some homes, a 30-day deadline applies — this will be clearly shown before you book.
- Cancellations must be submitted before 4 PM EST on the deadline day to qualify.
Fair-Refund Policy
If you cancel after the deadline:
- Berkshire Vacation Rental Co. will relist your dates and automatically refund you for any nights that rebook.
- The refund per night will be the lower of the original price or the rebooking rate. Nights that do not rebook are non-refundable.
Half-Now, Half-Later Bookings
- The first half of your payment is non-refundable.
- The second half may be refunded according to the standard cancellation policy above.
Non-Refundable Bookings
If you selected a Non-Refundable rate at checkout, the booking cannot be changed or canceled, and no refund will be issued.
Date Changes & Rebooking
Once a stay is canceled, you can't rebook the same dates yourself. If you need help choosing new dates, our Concierge team is happy to assist.
Transfers to Another Guest
You may transfer your booking to someone else at no charge. Just contact the Concierge with the new guest's name and email. The new guest must accept the transfer for it to take effect.
Policy Match Guarantee
If a better price is available for the same property on Airbnb or the owner's site, contact the Concierge — Berkshire Vacation Rental Co. will match it.
