The Haystack | Tiny House Retreat on Hayes Hill

Small house, big personality. The Haystack is a chic 500-square-foot tiny house tucked into the woods of Southfield, one of the quietest corners of The Berkshires. It’s cleverly laid out with two bedrooms (a queen and a single) plus a built-in single in the living room, and a beautifully renovated bath with a soaking tub you won’t want to leave. Evenings are for the outdoor seating area and the fire pit. Peaceful, a little swanky, and full of surprises.

The Haystack sits in Southfield, a tiny village in the town of New Marlborough, up in the quiet hills of the southern Berkshires. Out here it’s winding back roads, old stone walls, and long stretches of woods. It’s peaceful and private, with little to hear but birds and the wind in the trees.

There isn’t much in the way of shops nearby, and that’s the point. The Southfield Store is just down the road for coffee and baked goods, and downtown Great Barrington is about 20 minutes away when you want restaurants, groceries, and some browsing.

Car recommended, there is no public transit and little to no ride share availability nearby.
