Hupi Hideaway | Fireplace, 5-Min Walk to the Lake

Hupi Hideaway is a cozy Monterey retreat with an easy, old-school Berkshires feel, and it’s barely a 5-minute walk to the Lake Garfield town beach. Nostalgic art lines the walls, the shelves are packed with books and board games, and there’s a record player ready for a slow evening by the fireplace. Three bedrooms and 2.5 baths sleep 6 comfortably, and the screened porch is where you’ll spend most of your mornings. Simple, warm, and the kind of place that feels like your own special getaway.

Hupi Hideaway sits on a gently rolling dirt road in Monterey, tucked into the trees with a few neighbors around but none close by. It’s private in the best way: quiet mornings, starry nights, and nothing but woods outside the windows. Lake Garfield’s town beach is about a 5-minute walk, so a swim before breakfast or a lazy afternoon on the sand is always on the table.

Monterey is a classic Berkshire hideaway town, mostly vacation and second homes, with no busy main street and no traffic. That’s the appeal. When you need groceries, coffee, a good dinner out, or some browsing in shops and galleries, downtown Great Barrington is about 20 minutes away.

Car recommended as there is no public transit and almost no ride share in the area.
